Womania’18 Celebration

Saranathan College of Engineering takes pride in honouring the women of our society on International Women’s Day through the celebration of “Womania 2K18” on 08th March 2018.

The celebration was honoured by the presence of Dr N. Gayathiri, Gynecologist, Shymala Nursing Home, Trichy. The Chief Guest in her address mentioned the history and transformation of women in taking diversified roles in family, society and nation. She also emphasised the need for empowering women in the modern society through their participation in all the development and welfare activities of the country and concluded that the day is also a reminder of their responsibility to achieve gender equality.

The event achieved success by organising various competitions which is as follows.

• Rhythmic Queen (solo and group)-Singing.
• Cuisine Funda-Fireless Cooking.
• Mehandika- Mehandi.
• Coding of Colours- Rangoli.
• Lens Queen- Photography.
• Brush and Blush.
• Bridal Makeup.
• Polish me Pretty-Nail Art.
• Pirates Hunt- Treasure Hunt.
• Dubstar- Dubsmash

The winners of all the events were shortlisted for the title Miss Womania 2k18. The candidates were interviewed and selected on the basis of General Knowledge and Situational Handling. After critically evaluating the performance, Ms A.Vincy Jovitha, II B.E (Computer Science & Engg) was crowned and declared as Miss Womania 2k18

Dr. D. Valavan, the Principal gave the presidential address. Dr. C. Vennila, Coordinator of the Women Empowerment Cell delivered the welcome address. Student Coordinator Ms.Indhumathy of ECE department proposed the vote of thanks. Students from all departments actively participated in the various events and enjoyed the program intensively.
