The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE), was started in the year 1998. It offers one Under-Graduate programme (B.E.), and one Post-Graduate programmes (M.E. in Power Electronics and Drives). The UG programe was started with an initial intake of 60 students and extended to 120 in the year 2012. The PG programe was started in the year 2004 with an intake of 18 students. The department is consecutively accredited by the National Board of Accreditation NBA) till the year 2015 and is also a recognized Research Centre of Anna Universities, Chennai. The department has grown not only in terms of student and faculty strength, but also in improving the laboratory facilities for the teaching and research purposes. The Department is well equipped with modern facilities besides impeccable conventional infrastructures. The department has well qualified, experienced and dedicated team of faculty. The department houses a Research Cell and IIPC (Institute Industry partnership cell) and is executing various projects funded by MHRD, industries and other funding agencies. As a knowledge sharing initiative the department has conducted various workshops and conferences funded by CSIR, MHRD, DRDO, MNRE, TNCST.
