FACULTY DEVELOPMENT AND TRAINING PROGRAMME (FDTP)
The Department of Mechanical Engineering organised a one week Faculty Development Training Programme (FDTP) on “Heat and Mass Transfer” from 16.12.2013 to 22.12.2013.Dr.G.Jayaparakash, HOD/Mechanical and Prof.S.Chinnathambi were coordinators of this programme. This programme was sponsored by Centre for Faculty Development, Anna University for tuning the technical knowledge and teaching methodology of young mechanical faculty members. Totally there are twenty eight sessions out which seventeen sessions were allotted for technical presentations, six sessions were allocated to Lab Practice and five Sessions were allocated for tutorial practice. Professors from NIT-Trichy like Dr.S.Suresh & Dr.S.Venkatachalapathy, Dr.M.Chandrasekar from University College, BIT campus, Trichy, Dr.M.R.Dhanesekar is an expert in the field of CFD and our thermal engineering staff handled classes.
This programme was inaugurated by Dr.A.Revathi, Principal, Saranathan College of Engineering on 16th Dec 2013. Totally sixteen participants registered for this programme from various colleges. They were given an opportunity to interact with all resource persons to improve their understanding about the subject. They were also given practical training by conducting experiments and demonstration in our thermal engineering lab. They also got enough practice to solve problems from different topics of the heat and mass transfer subject. The participants were also given with a programme CD containing all the presentation slides, e-books and with a textbook titled “Fundamentals of Heat and Mass transfer” by R.C.Sachdev. The programme would have augmented the understanding of participants on the heat and mass transfer subject.
