CSE Research Center


The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) is strengthened with more experienced faculty members at the doctoral level with expertise in various domains. Currently, there are five faculty members holding doctorate degrees in the department, specializing in fields such as Distributed Systems and Cloud Computing, Network & Cloud Security, Big Data, and Machine Learning. Additionally, ten faculty members are actively pursuing their Ph.D. degrees, contributing to diverse research areas such as Networking, Speech Processing, Distributed Systems, Cloud Computing, Network Security, Multimedia Security, Cloud Security, Internet of Things, Big Data, Machine Learning, and Image Processing.

The department is approved as a research center of Anna University, Chennai from January 2024. Two of our faculty members are approved research supervisors of Anna University, further solidifying our commitment to advancing research and academic excellence in the field of computer science and engineering.

Objectives

The Research Center of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) has been established with the following key objectives:

  • Continuous Advancement of Knowledge and Progressive Innovation: Foster a dynamic environment that promotes the updating of new knowledge and innovative solutions in the diverse domains of computer engineering.

  • Facilitate Collaborative Research: Encourage and support collaborative research initiatives, both within the department and in partnership with other institutions and industries, to leverage collective expertise and resources. These collaborative initiatives align with SDG 9 by promoting innovation through cutting-edge technological advancements.

  • Promote Interdisciplinary Research: Facilitate interdisciplinary research projects that bridge traditional boundaries, encouraging the integration of insights and methodologies from various fields of engineering. This approach supports SDG 11 by contributing to the development of sustainable cities and communities through smart technologies and urban informatics.

  • Train and Mentor Researchers: Provide a platform for training and mentoring researchers, including faculty members, postgraduate students, and other research scholars, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development. This initiative aims to ensure quality education in alignment with SDG

  • Contribute to Academic Excellence: Enhance the academic reputation of the CSE Department by producing high-impact research outcomes, publishing in reputable journals, and presenting at national and international conferences.

  • Contribute to National and Global Research Networks: Actively engage with national and international research networks to exchange ideas, collaborate on global challenges, and contribute to the advancement of the broader scientific community. Through these networks, we aim to support sustainable development and innovation across various sectors.

  • By aligning our objectives with the SDGs, the Research Center of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering reaffirms its commitment to not only advancing the field of computer science but also contributing to sustainable development and addressing critical global issues.
